Faster and Easier Identification of Spamming Activities Thanks to Zerospam Implementation of the First Automated System for Submitting Spam to the CRTC's Spam Reporting Center

Montreal - December 16, 2014 - Zerospam is pleased to collaborate with the CRTC in the fight against spam and to support its efforts in the enforcement of Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL). Zerospam has implemented two new mechanisms that facilitate and accelerate the reporting of spamming. These automated processes allow clients to submit spam or spam to the Spam Reporting Center (SRC), which is managed by the CRTC. Zerospam is the very first anti-spam solution to integrate a notification mechanism of this kind to support the new legislation, an endeavor that is fully aligned with the CRTC's mission.

As a leading player in the Canadian email security market, Zerospam processes millions of email messages and their information to establish a link between their clients and the CRTC. The Zerospam servers scan all messages sent to customers, which are acceptable or otherwise harmful. A stream of clean email is then sent to customers. A portion of the message is sent to quarantine and clients can access these messages through a Web interface called Cumulus.

The new version of Cumulus, launched a new "Report to CRTC" button, which allows Zerospam clients to select one or more spam messages that have been quarantined and submitted to the SRC. This is the first automated mechanism. The second is linked to the Zerospam feedback plug-in for Outlook. This tool allows clients to install a button in Outlook, which, when clicked, reports any spam that they manage to infiltrate their inbox to the company. This plug-in now includes a button that will allow users to respond to the CRS, where they will be analyzed.
