President's Message
Will we eventually win the spam war?
Will we eventually win the spam war? Some optimists claim that it's just a matter of time before spammers give up due to a lack of interested buyers. Yet since its first occurrence, spam has grown incrementally. In fact, the spam problem increased by 40% in 2004, the same year the United States enacted the CAN-SPAM Act, making provisions for various measures aimed at reducing spam. Notably, the bill requires email marketers to give email recipients the option of refusing to receive these offers by putting their names on an opt-out list. Although this measure made it possible to prosecute a few determined spammers, it has otherwise not been effective.
As long as many people continue purchasing products offered by spammers, spam will remain a firmly established and lucrative industry. The current situation calls for businesses to acquire effective anti-virus and anti-spam protection to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
I value my personal freedom and privacy, and I am offended when spam violates my private space. This was one of the reasons I wanted to find a way to thwart intrusive spam messages. It led to the development of an effective solution that quickly became popular. ZEROSPAM is now a world-class business that ensures the security and reliability of its customers' email with leading-edge services that lighten the load on their infrastructure. ZEROSPAM uses state-of-the-art filtering technologies, giving organizations access to this technology without having to invest capital. IDC estimates that nearly two in five companies use managed email security services. This strong trend is likely to continue, as outsourcing allows IT managers to concentrate on their core business objectives.
...we're seeing more managed security services occurring in Canada (two-fifths of Canadian organizations are using managed security services to some degree, according to IDC).
